Thanks, Kyle
Our dear friend Kyle just arrived from New York City, where he's been living, studying and working (as a Lawyer) for the past 6 years. We met in Ho Chi Minh City in 2006 during our last go-round and hit it off right away. We quickly formed a band, and before we knew it, we were recording an EP, playing shows and entertaining small crowds in expat bars. But all good things must come to an end, and he headed back to The States to pursue a JD in NYC. We met up for a few days in California a few years later and always pined after more hanging out and music-making. It's difficult to find people with whom to collaborate artistically, and Kyle was a perfect fit in every way. Plus, Kelly and I just really loved hanging out with him.
One lonely day in Olympia I emailed him, saying, "Talk me into moving to the East Coast." His reply was "I'm looking for a change of scenery lately...Vietnam...?" One thing led to another and now we're here.
A day before he was set to meet us here, Kelly got the idea that he could bring a little Hario Skerton with him and he said "sure." Doing a little research, we found some stores in his area that stocked such wares and directed him there.
My Kalita Wave brewer has never been happier (neither has my palate!).
